Michael Davis ('13)
Michael Allen builds songs. There is no other way to put it. At the age of 13, MA sold one of his guitars and worked every day after school in order to be able to afford his first set of electronic music production tools. Every day he would come home, hang out with friends, and learn the art of music production. At the age of 17, he was offered a record deal with his favorite indie label, and with that the option to tour around the country and world for a few years. It came down to pursuing music full time, or going to school. After six months, he had made up his mind: he was going to Bucknell. While at Bucknell, he has garnered in excess of 100,000 plays and 10,000 downloads on his various websites, as well as being featured on blogs across the web.
From a musical standpoint, he produces all kinds of music: rock, ambient, dance, dubstep, and piano-based music. If you want to get a brief glimpse into some of his work, you can check out his soundcloud page. But with over 500 completed songs sitting tight on his hard drive, there is far more music that has yet to be released. With so many compositions sitting unreleased, one thing is certain: the future is bright for MA.
