June 2017 Playlist
Full days at the beach, warm nights under the stars, fast drives with your best friends -- these are all the sensations of summer, but Campus Vinyl wants to help you with a soundtrack to your summer. Compiled below are a list of our favorite songs on our June 2017 Playlist.
Harrison Wilf’s June tune is “A Day in the Life” by The Beatles.
Harrison believes the song is truly a beautiful one that ties together end concludes possibly the greatest album of all time, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Jack Graubard is feeling “Mourning Sound” by Grizzly Bear.
Jack has picked this song because Grizzly Bear is releasing their first album since 2012 this August and this song gives a good idea of what to expect from it. “Mourning Sound” consists of a pumping drumbeat and a very nice harmony, two things the band has excelled at throughout their career.
Laur Hudson’s choice of the month is “Right Now” by Haim.
Laur has been waiting for new music from Haim for approximately three years, and the new single from their upcoming album is even better than she hoped. The drum build at the end is enough to get anyone every time!
Ryan Gannon is digging “Come a Little Bit Closer” by Jay & The Americans.
The only thing Ryan can say about this song is, “See Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and get back to me.”
Lauren Ziolkowski can’t stop listening to “Hold On” by Good Charlotte.
Lauren just saw Good Charlotte again and it was a “blast”. She’s actually writing an article about it now, because it must have been one of the best concerts she’s seen in recent years. Having forgotten Good Charlotte had even written this song until she saw it performed that night, the song gave Lauren and surely everyone in the crowd goosebumps.
Noah Grossman has contributed “Feather” by Nujabes this month.
Noah has picked this song because it’s not only super chill, but it’s also a great song for driving around in the summer.
Sam Rosenblatt has been vibing to “Knee Deep” by Zac Brown Band ft. Jimmy Buffett.
Sam knows that Zac Brown Band has many great summer jams (examples: “Chicken Fried”, “Toes”), but this awesome collaboration with Jimmy Buffett is his song choice for June. “Knee Deep” is perfect for driving with the windows rolled down or relaxing on the beach.
MK Moore wants you to listen to “Blister in the Sun” by the Violent Femmes.
MK picked this tune because it’s a perfect upbeat, and relatable summer anthem. “Blister in the Sun” isn’t just relatable because of the sunburns she falls victim to so often, but it also captures the feeling of being young in the summer.
Whatever you choose to make your summer soundtrack, Campus Vinyl wants you to check out these jams.
