Here at Campus Vinyl we are hitting the back to school grind hard, and we wouldn’t be making it without our tunes. Compiled below is our favorite songs for September, so make sure to check them out!
Ryan Gannon’s pick of the month is “Feel It Still” by Chamanas.
“While the original version by Portugal. The man became increasingly popular, this Spanish cover provides a much calmer beat and makes the chorus even catchier with Spanish lyrics.”
Lauren Ziolkowski is feeling “Same Logic / Teeth” by Brand New.
“Brand New very mysteriously released a new record a few weeks back and I cannot get enough of it. They've come a long way since Your Favorite Weapon and I am loving everything about it.”
Noah Grossman can’t stop listening to “Neon Guts” by Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell Williams.
“Great late summer song, Pharrell is a musical god. Ever since it was released, I haven’t been able to turn it off, might get sick of it, but for now it bumps.”
Sam Rosenblatt wants you to check out “Mexico” by James Taylor.
“I recently discovered this James Taylor hit and it's been one of my most played songs since. ‘Mexico’ provides perfect acoustic vibes for the late summer and early fall. It's also quickly becoming one of my favorite songs to play on guitar.”
Jack Graubard is vibing to “Three Rings” by Grizzly Bears.
“Grizzly Bear just released their new album, Painted Ruins, and this is certainly one of my favorite tracks off of it. "Three Rings" is an experimental gem that reflects a little bit of Radiohead in the process. It is definitely one of my favorites from 2017.”
Catch Alex Kon jamming out to “The Gold” by Manchester Orchestra.
“A great track from a great new album (tried not to pick something from Saturation II, since probably everyone is gonna do that), but nonetheless check both of them out if you have the time.”
Tyler DiBartolo wants you to experience “Girlfriend” by Busta Rhymes ft. Vybz Kartel + Tory Lanez.
“Three big hitter Caribbean-American artists come together on this track to deliver a great party tune. This song has a swagger that you can bump around town to feel like a real 'badmon' with your crew!”
MK Moore’s song choice is “Bike Dream” by Rostam.
“It’s been more than four years since Vampire Weekend has released new music, so I’ve had to do some soul searching. Luckily, the band’s former drummer-producer powerhouse has gone solo and released truly incredible and experimental music. With lyrics that make me feel like I’m in Manhattan and instrumental euphoria, Rostam knocks it out of the park with ‘Bike Dream’.”
Whether or not you take our great song advice, try to broaden your musical horizons this fall. Branching out from your favorite artists and regular genres can only open doors for you.
