April Playlist

It finally feels like we're in for some spring time weather.  So prepare your shorts and sunglasses, get that blanket ready to lay out on the quad, and turn on our April Playlist! Laur is loving "Cleopatra" by The Lumineers

Lately, I've fallen back in love with The Lumineers. The band recently released "Cleopatra", the title track from their forthcoming album. The track's beautiful, soaring melodies are perfect for spring, and it marks an exciting new phase for the band while staying true to the acoustic sound of their first album.

Troy can't get enough of "Weekend (feat. Tree)" by Getter

It's April, so it's time to get ready for spring. Indie band Getter is jamming to some laidback and chill vibes. It has a nice light and playful sound that plays really well off the vocals and the short feature of Tree. Once you start listening, you'll be grooving to this track all day.

Morgan is chilling out with "Sick" by Rotana

I love music that can be powerful without much production and even without a huge band as support; this song is exactly that.  A perfect track for the upcoming calm days of soaking up some desperately needed Vitamin D.

Staci is into "Ultralight Beam" by Kanye West

Since it came out a few months ago, I have been into, and haven't yet lost interest with, Kanye's entire new album. "Life of Pablo's" opening track, "Ultralight Beam" sets the tone for the rest of the album and stands out as an outstanding track all on its own.

Mike can't get enough of "Fragile" by Kygo & Labrinth

Kygo teams up with singer Labrinth to create a song that is slower paced than his usual hits, adding a new level of emotion. This tune is powerful, yet just as catchy as his other songs. "Fragile" is a pre-released single off of Kygo's upcoming album Cloud Nine, which drops on May 13th.

Marcus is listening to "Need The Sun To Break" by James Bay

I’ve been on a James Bay kick lately and “Need The Sun To Break” has been at the top of my list. It’s has poignant lyrics and the music is easy to get lost in. Bay’s delivery is nothing short of passionate and brutally honest.

Melissa is rocking out to "Backbeat" by Dagny

As we transition into Spring, I have been searching frantically for fresh new finds. I recently came across this song on Spotify. This is a unique track because it is an incorporation of many different genres. The refreshing and rejuvenating vibes that this song gives off are great for early mornings or just a mid-day pick-me-up. If you enjoy this song, keep you eyes out for new songs by Dagny, as I am sure after this great hit she will be releasing more soon.

Joe Tull is listening to "Old Friends" by Pinegrove

A song off their album Cardinal released on Run For Cover Records on February 12. Super mellow and feel-good.
