Event Breakdown: Week of 10/19/14

What up CV readers, This week features an exciting lineup of diverse musicianship!

On Wednesday October 22 at 7:30 PM, The Stray Birds will grace the Campus Theatre’s stage. Drawing upon the richness of American folk music traditions, the signature power of The Stray Birds sound lies in outstanding songwriting spun with a stirring subtlety and grace. Their full-length debut, The Stray Birds, was lauded by radio stations and listeners across the country and named to the Top 10 Folk/Americana Releases of 2012 by NPR.

On Thursday, October 23 at 12:00 PM, the Weis Center will host the first of the Mozart Piano Lobby Concerts as part of The Mozart Project series. It will certainly be an afternoon filled with classical brilliance. The Weis Center will also host the Mark Morris Dance Group on Friday, October 24 at 7:30 PM, as they bring their form of modern abstract dance to Lewisburg. Also on Friday, the Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall will host Seth Cluett’s Gallery Series Concert. Cluett will be the guest performer and composer at the event.

The rest of the weekend features faculty recitals on both Saturday and Sunday. Emily Martin (soprano) will be accompanied by guest Chuck Chandler (tenor) on Saturday, October 25 from 7:30-9:00 PM at the Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall. On Sunday, October 26, the same room will host the Faculty Wind Quintet Concert from 2:00-3:00 PM.
