Jason Derulo and Chance the Rapper Come to Bucknell this October
It’s official- Jason Derulo and Chance the Rapper will be coming to Gerard Field House October 25th for Bucknell’s Fall Concert! These are two of the most prominent rap artists Bucknell has seen in a long time, so get pumped! This concert is so big that it is taking the combined spring and fall concert budget to happen. In my opinion, it is definitely worth it! Bravo Bucknell Concert Committee! For those who are unfamiliar with these artists, they both have amazing talent and really know how to put on a performance. In his short 5-year career, Jason Derulo has sold over 45 million records worldwide, has achieved platinum status on 9 singles, and has over 30 million social media fans & followers. Many people recognize his songs by his coined intro of singing his own name, as seen in the 57 minute video of him only doing just that.
Some of Jason’s earlier hits include “Whatcha Say”, "In My Head", "Ridin' Solo", "Don't Wanna Go Home" and "It Girl”. However, his latest album, Talk Dirty, hit the charts big time with songs “Talk Dirty Feat. 2 Chainz”, “Wiggle Feat. Snoop Dogg”, “Trumpets”, and “Marry Me”. Bottom line, you can’t really go wrong with Jason Derulo.
On the other hand, Chance the Rapper is a very new artist who is just recently making his mark in the rap world. Chance is a 21 year-old rapper who released his first mixtape titled 10 Day in 2011. After this release, he was highlighted as one of Complex magazine's "10 New Chicago Rappers to Watch Out For.” This article was proven right after Chance released his second mixtape Acid Rap on April 30, 2013. It is certified double platinum after being downloaded over 500,000 times on DatPiff. It was also nominated for Best Mixtape at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. Some of his hit songs on this mixtape include “NaNa”, “Cocoa Butter Kisses”, “Favorite Song”, “Nostalgia”, and “Chain Smoker”. If you are unfamiliar with Chance I’d definitely recommend checking out these songs. He brings a totally new vibe to rap music that’s hard not to love.
Let’s just say these two artists have potential to make Bucknell History. Tickets are $30 for students and are available NOW in the CAP center. Get em’ while their hot because they are going fast! Don’t you want to be a part of history?
