Jazz @ Bucknell Welcomes Unique Performers to Campus
The Spring 2014 Jazz @ Bucknell series has officially started with performances planned throughout February, March and April. Jazz @ Bucknell features both classical and modern jazz performers who represent the past and future of jazz music. The series is open to all students with the goal of promoting interest in the essential jazz musical genre. The next Jazz @ Bucknell performance will be Eastman Jazz Quartet on Wednesday, February, 26th at 7:30 PM in Bucknell Hall. The members of this ensemble are professors from the prestigious Eastman School of Music at University of Rochester. The quartet features the trumpeter Clay Jenkins, Harold Danko on piano, Jeff Campbell on bass, and Rich Thompson’s jazz drum set. Each member of Eastman Jazz Quartet is a successful recording artist and touring musician. Bucknell will be hosting the group for workshops with the Department of Music to further enrich student jazz curriculum. Clay Jenkins will also make a return appearance at Bucknell for a performance with the student Bucknell Jazz Band on April 8th. This will provide a unique live experience for both student performers and audience members.
