Jazz Pianist Jeremy Siskind featured in Jazz at Bucknell

On Wednesday November 6, jazz pianist Jeremy Siskind will be performing in Bucknell Hall at 7:30. As part of the Jazz at Bucknell series, this award winning jazz trio featuring Siskind on piano, Nancy Harms with vocals, and on woodwinds, Lucas Pino, is a must-see for jazz enthusiasts. At the young age of 26, Mr. Siskind has quite the impressive resume. He is the winner of the Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition, a second place finisher in the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition, a two time finalist for the American Pianist Association’s Cole Porter Fellowship...the list goes on! In 2012, Siskind made a sold-out solo debut at Carnegie Hall which featured both Debussy’s Etudes and jazz improvisations. Needless to say, Bucknell’s in for a jazzy treat.

Critics rave about his improvisational skills and sheer amount of talent. Applauded for his control and style over the keys, Jeremy Siskind’s technique has been called everything from dark and sensitive to swinging but always remarkable.

His music is only exemplified through the contribution of Ms. Harms and Mr. Pino, who’s own individual styles add layers of depth to the overall sound and are all built to showcase Siskind’s work.

This free performance is sure to feature jazz classics as well as his own improves and is one I would recommend attending for anyone who has a love for jazz.
