This week, Maryland-based indie punk rock band Modern Baseball released a teaser video for their third upcoming studio LP Holy Ghost. [embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F95v7W-c9CI[/embedyt]

The video features a rather melancholy-sounding acoustic excerpt of a track from the new album played over scenes of rather melancholy-looking band members, a few studio shots, and crowd shots from MoBo shows. At the end, guitar feedback builds up enough to hint that something epic is about to happen, but then the video ends. With that being said, Modern Baseball has always been a band to write powerful, emotional music straight from the heart, and I’m sure this record will be no exception.

The band’s last full-length release, You’re Gonna Miss It All, came out in February of 2014 and is still widely popular among new wave emo fans everywhere. The delicate mix of catharsis and quirky humor in the band’s lyrics make them fun and relatable for everyone going through the transition from adolescence to adulthood.

This past October, the band released their MOBO Presents: The Perfect Cast EP which features the same energy and emotion as heard on You’re Gonna Miss It All but with more of an indie rock sound.

The new album Holy Ghost comes out May 13—just in time to add it to your summer playlist! Image via Flickr.
