It’s the start of a new month, and what better way to “ring” in November than by attending Bucknell music events? To delight your ears and fulfill your musical cravings, here’s a list of on-campus music events during the first full week of November for your enjoyment: Mozart Festival Noon Lecture Series: Tuesday, November 4 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM in Sigfried Weis Music Building 100 (Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall) – Want to learn more about 18th century piano music? Join Roger Moseley, assistant professor of musicology at Cornell University, to learn more about Mozart, improvisation, and 18th century piano style and technique.

Jazz @ Bucknell: Donny McCaslin Quartet: Wednesday, November 5 from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM in Bucknell Hall – This FREE jazz concert will showcase the talents of Jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin and his quartet members: Sam Harris, piano; Scott Colley, bass; and Johnathan Blake, drums. A well-known and well-traveled quartet, you don’t want to miss your chance to experience jazz like this.

Mozart Piano Lobby Concerts: Thursday, November 6 from 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM in Weis Center Lobby – A free piano concert open to all! Stop in for classical piano melodies and enjoyable music...plus, it’s a great way to relax between classes.

Caravan Intro to Music: Friday, November 7 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in Sigfried Weis Music Building 100 (Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall) – The Turtle Island Orchestra, a pioneer quartet for new trends in strings chamber music, will visit Bucknell to give a lecture to the Introduction to Music Classes. Feel free to attend their lecture to learn something new about the unique music they play, and also to learn more about them before their Weis Center performance at night!

Nellie McKay & Turtle Island Orchestra: Friday, November 7 at 7:30 PM in the Weis Center – Famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma hails TIQ as “a unified voice that truly breaks new ground – authentic and passionate – a reflection of some of the most creative music-making today.” Joined by Nellie McKay, one of America’s most talented and lyrically playful singer-songwriters, the quartet will perform their original compositions and songs with McKay for audience members of all ages. Tickets are $20 Adult, $16 Senior, $10 Youth, $10 Non-BU Student.
