Tonight, November 16 in the Rooke Recital Hall in the Music Building, Dr. Paul Houghtaling, a bass-baritone who directs the Opera Program at the University of Alabama and Dr. Kevin Chance, piano, will be presenting A Poet’s Love, comprised of Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe. On Wednesday November 18 at 7:30 in the Campus Theatre, De Temps Antan, a French-Canadian traditional/folk music trio will be bringing their ‘joie de vivre’ right to campus. Using a variety of instruments including fiddle, harmonica, and bouzouki (a Greek mandolin-like instrument), this group will be sure to provide an awesome performance unlike any other we’ve seen yet this year.

For Thursday, there’s a double bill of singers. At noon, Darren Kusar ’16, tenor, and Taylor Bernstein ’19, soprano, along with Dr. Emily Martin, soprano, and Dr. Sezi Seskir, piano, will be performing in a short recital of guest composer Zachary Wadsworth’s works called “Something Old Something New”. As you can guess from the title, works from the span of Wadsworth’s repertoire will be performed as well as some premiere works.

That evening at 7:30PM in the Rooke Recital Hall, the Bucknell Opera Theatre will be performing famous jazz standards and musical theatre selections featuring guest artists vocalist Misty Ann Sturm, who has also coached the performers, Broadway pianist J.J. Wright, and Dr. Barry Long on the trumpet.

Be sure to get your fill of these amazing performances before you start Thanksgiving Break! You won’t be disappointed!
