Weekly Event Breakdown: Week of April 13th

Only a few weeks left in the semester, but there are some great events going on in the music department this week to help you catch a break from the grind! On Monday, April 14th at 7 pm there will be a Musical Salute to William Duckworth held in the Natalie Davis Recital Hall. Duckworth, who passed in September 2012, was a former Bucknell composition teacher who founded the Gallery Series. A talk will be given by composer/author Kyle Gann, and selections from Duckworth’s work, The Time Curve Preludes will be performed by guest musicians Geoffrey Burleson, Steve Gorn and Samir Chatterjee.

Thursday, April 17th  at noon, there will be a lecture and demonstration by renowned jazz pianist Jason Moran, which is free and open to the public. At 7:30 pm Jason Moran & The Bandwagon will put on a full performance at the Weis Center. Ticket information can be found here!

This Saturday, April 19th will feature two student recitals! At 2:30 p.m. is Kathryn Striadle’s Sophomore Flute Recital, and at 7:30 pm is Tom Carle’s Senior Voice Recital. These are two talented student musicians that you don’t want to miss!
