Weekly Event Breakdown: Week of March 3rd

Get ready for some exciting and unique music events this coming week here at Bucknell! We hope you got a chance to check out Lee DeWyze or Campus Vinyl BucknellU’s very own Jake Perlmutter this past Friday, because the events this week take a slightly different tone. Once again, all free and open to the public, we’ve got a slew of variety that is sure to appease any music-lover. Remember those annual (or even bi-annual) concerts your elementary school music teacher would compel your whole grade to perform?  Well, fourth and fifth graders from Linntown Intermediate School, located in Sunbury, will be doing just that this Tuesday (Mar. 5th) at 7:00 p.m. at the Weis Center. Every year, these students practice during class time in preparation for this exciting event, which is held as a fundraiser for a non-profit charity organization. While the idea of a mob of fourth and fifth graders singing on stage together for an hour and a half might not sound appealing at first, the Pops Concert will no doubt be a wonderfully refreshing and original study break to help get you through the beginning of your week!

If that still doesn’t sound like your thing, you can always check out the Jerry Granelli Trio- an experienced jazz trio hailing from San Francisco. The Jerry Granelli Trio will be playing, as a part of the Jazz at Bucknell series that has been going on this semester, this Wednesday (Mar. 6th) at 8:30 P.M. in Bucknell Hall. Granelli has played with numerous musical greats such as legendary jazz drummers Joe Morello and Gene Krupa. The Jerry Granelli Trio (composed of Jerry Granelli, J. Anthony Granelli, and Briggan Krauss) is sure to please any crowd; you won’t want to miss them!

Last, but definitely not least, we’ve got an extremely unique event for you. Rob Schwimmer, pianist and professional theremin player—look it up, we didn’t know what that was at first, either—will be performing some atmospheric music in accompaniment to the instruction of two yoga sessions (at 12:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.) and one Tai Chi session (at 5:00 P.M.). More than just your average, everyday concert performance, you will most definitely want to check out this uniquely interactive event!

There you have it, Bucknellians: three equally awesome music events for you to attend this coming week! Any single one is sure to bring you some much-needed stress relief throughout your week, so to recap:
