Weekly Event Breakdown: Week of September 29th, 2013

Looking for something to do in between studying for countless exams this week? Feeling slightly out of rhythm? Fortunately, there are a few options as far as the music scene goes on campus this week.

To start out the week, on Sunday September 29th, as a part of the University’s ongoing Jazz at Bucknell Series, there will be a Bucknell Symphonic Band Jazz Concert from 2:30 pm to 4pm. For those interested, it is in in the Weis Center Auditorium. Admission is also free for this concert!

On that same note, there will be another jazz showcase with John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet. Following the release of their new album, The Claudia Quintet explores the edge of jazz music, creating a new dynamic that extends beyond your average jazz band. Their music, though appealing to jazz aficionados as a whole, also ranges into the appeal of music lovers everywhere. The concert is free and open to the public, and will be held in Bucknell Hall on October 2nd from 7:30pm-10:30pm.

For all lovers of lattes and smooth tunes, there will be a Late Night Music Series Open Mic Night at 7th Street Café on Friday, October 4th, from 10pm to midnight. You can expect anything from Tupac to Tom Petty, so grab your guitar or grab a snicker shake and come watch a showcase of your peers' talents!

That about wraps it up for this week’s event activity, but keep your eyes peeled for performances in the near future!
