Half the Deck
Half the Deck was formed from band members' shared passion of contemporary bluegrass, folk rock, and indie music. To the members of Half the Deck, however, these three styles blend seamlessly into one acoustic sound of rich harmonies and an eclectic mix of instruments. Modern hits are translated using a combination of classical, blues, rock, and folk influences to form a brand new, unique sound while still retaining the original musicality. Half the Deck promises to bring a new perspective to some of the most popular songs of the day and a unique, memorable concert experience for music lovers of all tastes.
We’ll have originals eventually, but right now we’re doing mostly covers and re-arrangements of artists like Mumford and Sons, Monsters and Men, The Civil Wars, Imagine Dragons, Nickel Creek, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, The Avett Brothers, Glen Hansard, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sufjan Stevens, Kasey Musgraves, Phil Phillips, Gregory Alan Isakov, and others!
