The Bucknell University Orchestra is the oldest continuous musical organization on campus. Founded in 1889 by Professor Jean Aviragnet, the orchestra is composed of students and faculty from all departments of the university. It is the mission of the orchestra to provide an outlet of musical expression for students and faculty by the performance of a wide variety of orchestral music. The repertoire is carefully chosen both to challenge the skill of the ensemble and to provide an enjoyable experience for players and audience alike.
